Fertility Results You Can Expect

Will Your Treatment be Successful?

For patients undergoing IVF, there is one question that overshadows all others; “What is my chance of becoming pregnant and having a baby?” There is unfortunately no simple answer to this question, we can however estimate your chance of success based on a number of key factors including your age and fertility history.

Success rates can be affected by many factors, including:

  • Genetic factors
  • Fertility history
  • Age of the female partner
  • Lifestyle factors including weight and smoking
  • Conditions contributing to infertility
  • Quality of eggs and number of eggs recovered
  • Quality of sperm (including motility and ability to penetrate the egg)

The age of the female partner is perhaps the single most important factor affecting a couple’s chances of success with IVF. The probability of having a child declines after age 35 and falls significantly beyond 41, while miscarriage rates increase with age.

However, there are many hurdles to overcome during treatment and it is wise to keep in mind that they all have to be successfully navigated to get to what we are all striving for – a baby to take home. The key message is to seek help from specialists early and not to delay treatment where it is advised.

Our multi-disciplinary team, our research and the individualised treatment plans developed with your input, ensure that Rotunda IVF consistently achieves world-class success rates. Pregnancy rates in excess of 50% per single cycle are routinely achieved, where a woman is below the age of 35. Pregnancy rates, for women under 40, rise to 70% over the course of two cycles.
