Dr Renato Bauman
PhD, Ob/Gyn Consultant, Subspecialist in Infertility
Renato graduated from University of Zagreb, Croatia in 1992. In 2000 he gained his MSc and in 2012 his PhD.
Since 1992, his main area of interest was Gynaecology and Obstetrics. In 1997 he developed a keen interest in the area of Infertility. His main areas of interest within assisted reproduction are minimally invasive (endoscopic) surgery, Colour Doppler and three-dimensional ultrasound. In 2005 he became an “Expert Leader” of the Human Reproduction Clinic in Sveti Hospital in Zagreb and in 2009 he became a Sub-Specialist in IVF.
Renato was a regular lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb in postgraduate studies, “Ultrasound in gynaecology and obstetrics,” “Obstetric Surgeries” and “Gynaecological Surgery and Endoscopy”. As a teacher he participates in national and international professional meetings and conferences, he is the author of many chapters in domestic and foreign books on gynaecology, as well as numerous scientific articles which are often cited in the international indexes.
He joined us here in Rotunda IVF in 2015, becoming our Deputy Clinic Director in June 2016 and then our Clinical Director early in 2017. He continues to provide ongoing support and leadership to all of our medical and nursing team’s. He strives at all times to ensure that couples attending RIVF receive excellent care and attention.
Dr Piotr Sokol
Piotr is a Medical Graduate of Akademia Medyczna in Warsaw, Poland in 2006. He completed his speciality training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2012 at Hospital Clinic in Barcelona, a tertiary hospital and referral centre for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He subsequently completed his post graduate (MSc) in Gynaecological Endoscopy at University Hospital Vall D’Hebron in Barcelona.
He developed his expertise in ART at Sims IVF in Dublin in 2013. He returned to his family in Barcelona where he continued to work in Instituto Marques and FIV Clinic, where he had responsibility for the Egg Donation programme.
He re-joined the Sims group, based in Rotunda IVF in 2016.
Piotr strongly believes in evidence based medicine and an integrated approach in the treatment of infertility. He is passionate about the need for emotional support and empathy throughout the entire fertility process.
Dr Adeola Adewole
MBChB, BAO, LRCSI&PI, MRCPI, MRCOG
Dr Adeola Adewole graduated with Honours degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin in 2006. She has worked in various hospitals in Ireland in areas of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and has held the Post of a Clinical Tutor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. She enjoys teaching, and she is currently involved in medical education.
Dr Adewole has had interest in Reproductive Medicine since she was a medical student herself, and has been actively working area for the last two years. She recently finished her MSc in Reproduction and Development, with area of research in women with diminished ovarian reserve. Dr Adewole understands that seeking help with fertility can be a difficult and stressful time for couples, and understands the importance of empathy in patient’s care.
Kathleen trained in Kingston upon Thames and qualified as a general nurse in 1992. She worked in the UK and Ireland before heading to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. There Kathleen started working in an IVF unit attached to the hospital. She returned to Ireland in 2002 and joined a Dublin based IVF Clinic where she worked as a fertility nurse and then nurse manager. Kathleen left to work in The Kilkenny Clinic before returning to the Dublin based IVF Clinic in 2010 to join the Egg Donation program as donor coordinator. In September 2015 we were delighted to take Kathleen on board as Clinic Manager.
Sameer, who has a background in Molecular Biology and Genetics, debuted his career in Embryology in 2002 where he underwent intensive-extensive training in Harley Street, London, with members of the original team who worked with Steptoe and Edwards in Bourn Hall Clinic, Cambridge. He is an HFEA ICSI licensed practitioner.
During his 15 years in the embryology field, Sameer has been able to acquire and accumulate a wealth of knowledge and know-how, and develop enhanced techniques and skills, through his vast experience and exposure to different IVF centres around the world.
In 2004, Sameer became Lab Director for the Harley Street satellite clinic, located in Mauritius. Among other things, he was also responsible for overseeing the design and physical construction of the specialist IVF unit and lab for that satellite clinic, and the implementation of a PGD/ PGS programme.
Sameer moved on to become Lab Director for the largest private IVF clinic in Belgium, in 2008. There he also implemented the EU Tissue and Cell Directive, and had consistently the best pregnancy rates in the country.
In 2011, based on his decision to expand his experience and knowledge in IVM and Vitrification, Sameer moved to Montreal to join another private IVF clinic. He also had the opportunity to receive personal training from Dr. Kuwayama a pioneer and world authority in vitrification, and consequently Sameer is a certified instructor for Cryotech.
Sameer moved to Ireland in 2014 to join the Clane Fertility Clinic as Lab Manager - Senior Embryologist, and became also the Designate Person Responsible.
He then joined the SIMS group in 2015, and subsequently became Lab Manager of Rotunda IVF in August 2016.
Sameer recognises the enormous privilege of working with human embryos in the IVF lab, and is passionate about his work. He strives to maintain the highest possible standards, bringing experience and new innovation to help couples achieve the dream of parenthood.
